This 12x12 inch original piece combines inks, hand-sculpted and burned Yupo paper, and delicately placed pins to create a dynamic composition full of depth, light, and intention.
The name Three refers to both the three materials used and the values it represents: Community, Connection, and Togetherness. Each element of this piece is created with care—alcohol ink is first painted on Yupo paper, which is then carved and burned using a soldering iron from my early engineering days. The resulting forms are pinned to canvas, casting subtle shadows and creating an interplay of shape and light.
This contemporary abstract art piece invites viewers to reflect on the ways we support each other: in joy and in struggle, in silence and in celebration. It’s a reminder to live fully, love boldly, and stay rooted in the communities that uplift us.
